What inspired you to launch your business idea?
344pm is a result of my own “busy mom fashion challenges”.

Shortly after my daughter was born, I succumbed to the life of the sleep deprived, busy, working mom that had no time to shower, let alone put together a fashionable outfit. One day, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and noticed that I was wearing a pair of very loose (maternity) pants with a very tight (pre-baby) blouse, and mis-matched shoes. The way I looked on the outside pretty much resembled how I felt on the inside as well. Right then I knew I had to reclaim my style. As an executive in NYC’s fashion industry I was armed with the tools to help me recreate my wardrobe to match the “new me”.

I soon learned that I was not the only one in this situation and there were many other Moms and busy women that fell into this pattern, but unfortunately struggled to get out. Completely understanding their situation I wanted to do all I could to help, therefore I started a fashion blog offering quick and easy fashion advice and tips. From all of the positive feedback on the blog, and after lots of research, I decided to launch 344pm as an online wardrobe consultation business so I can reach even more women and help them with their style dilemmas.

What problem does your business or organization solve?
344pm understands that maintaining your personal style can be time consuming and stressful. Sorting through all the options that offer fashion advice – magazines, fashion blogs and personal stylists – can be frustrating and expensive. 344pm is dedicated to giving busy women an easy and convenient way to decode fashion. With online styling sessions, insightful blog posts, and more, I provide women with clear and simple ways on how to dress according to their own personal style.

What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur and how are you working to overcome it?
344pm launched in November, 2013. As a new business owner I’m still finding my way. There have been a couple of challenges as I navigate through the early stages of my business. The best ways I’ve found to help is to first continually educate myself. While I’m armed with a background in fashion and business, things are always changing so it’s important to keep up with it all. Also, talking and getting advice from other, more established, business owners that have gone through the same growing pains has been very beneficial.

Give us an insider tip that relates to your industry or startup story.
Style is personal, it’s a part of who you are. You don’t have to follow, own, or wear all of the fashion trends in order to be “stylish”. When you feel what you are wearing represents you and makes you feel good, then you’re stylish.
