Are You Getting The Most Out of Your Business This Summer?

Summer is an ideal time to try working with an Administrative Consultant

For those of you in the Northern Hemisphere, how is your summer going?  Up here in Seattle it’s been beautiful, and jam packed with activities!  This got me thinking about how, even if your business slows down in the summer time, it might be the ideal time to try working with an Administrative Consultant.   Many people have children who are out of school, vacations and family reunions planned, BBQs, trips to the beach or the pool, hiking, biking, boating, camping, festivals….the list of summertime distractions goes on and on!  Just this past weekend we had a wedding to go to, and a Seafair party to attend where enjoyed great views of Lake Washington while watching Hydroplane races and an air show with the Blue Angels!

If any of this sounds familiar, you may be feeling torn between your business responsibilities and the rest of your life.  Which is a great time to think about outsourcing some of your time consuming marketing and administrative tasks to an Administrative Consultant! Not sure what you could hand off to someone?  Think about these:

    • Delegate the things you hate to do.  We all have them: the items on our to-do list that keep getting shuffled to the bottom.  When there are so many other distractions and temptations, it’s even harder to face these tasks.  What would you LOVE if someone could just do it for you and you didn’t have to think about it anymore?
    • The second thing would be to outsource the things that you just don’t have time for.   Searching for photos and publishing your blog?  Updating your database?  Formatting and sending out your newsletter?  All of these can be outsourced to an Admin Consultant!
    • Things that you don’t know how to do.  As solopreneurs, especially when you’re just starting out, you need to learn about so many things.  And I believe that that learning is something that never stops when you own your own business.  But when time is limited, rather than learning a new program, why not work with someone who not only knows it already, but can do the job in half the time?
    • This is a big one: how about all of the things that don’t make you any money?    This could include items from all of the above categories, and really applies no matter what time of year it is.  If your mundane admin and marketing tasks are keeping you from working with or possibly obtaining new clients, it is well worth your money to pay someone else to cover them so you can focus on other areas.

As I’ve said before, the list of things an Administrative Consultant can help you with is endless.  Most all Administrative Consultants provide a complimentary discovery session, and are more than happy to talk with you about the best way that they can help you free up your time – whether you want to spend it focusing on your business or spending more time with your friends and family.

Tell me about your summer!  Have all the activities got you thinking about getting some help in your business?  If you’re already working with an Administrative Consultant, have you noticed a significant increase in the time you have for summer fun?  Let me know in the comments!

Now get out there and enjoy the sunshine!
