Tell us about your entrepreneurial product or service.
Drazil Kids Tea is the first ready-to-drink herbal tea for kids. It’s naturally caffeine-free. We infuse our herbal teas with fruit juices to create a taste kids (and parents) love.

Drazil Kids Tea comes in four delicious flavors: Punch Passion, Tropical Burst, Yummy Berry, and Grape Bliss. It is available in an 8-pack of single-serve juice boxes.

What inspired you to launch your business idea?
My father started his own business when I was young and ever since then, I knew that’s just what I wanted to do. But it wasn't until my oldest son had a health issue that I realized what that business would be. Drazil Tea combines 3 passions of mine: kids, healthy eating, and tea.

When my oldest son was young he developed severe motor tics. I noticed that when he ate foods that had high levels of artificial dyes in it (like red or blue icee’s), his motor tics would get worse. That’s when I decided to stay away from as many products as I could that contained bad ingredients.

But I also wanted him to eat more foods that were rich in nutrients. I thought of all the tea I drank…If tea is so healthy for me to drink, why can’t my kids drink it too? Some people may say… tea for kids? I say, why not! There are great teas out there that are naturally caffeine-free. And the best part, tea is also naturally healthy. It’s full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.

This was the inspiration behind Drazil Kids Tea. After many years of research, product and packaging development, and building a team that believes in children’s health, Drazil Kids Tea is ready-to-drink!

What problem does your business or organization solve?
Drazil address two problems – too much sugar in kid’s diets and not enough antioxidants.

There are a lot of kids’ drinks on the market that add water to their juices to bring the sugar content down. Drazil Tea offers so much more as it’s made using 54% herbal tea and 46% fruit juice. The naturally sweet herbal tea in Drazil cuts the sugar but keeps the antioxidants!

Drazil Tea is a realistic way to help solve these problems since it was developed to be more nutritious without compromising taste.

What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur and how are you working to overcome it?
Our biggest challenge has been getting sufficient funding for each stage of our launch. We have an experienced team that knows exactly how to launch and grow a business, but because of limited funding, we’ve had to adjust our roll-out strategy several times. One way we’re overcoming it is by slowing our expansion and focusing on sales velocity vs. total sales. We want to show success in the markets we’re in. As the founder, I have also had to prioritize fund raising over business growth. Not quite as fun for me but a necessity.

Give us one word that people might use to describe you.
Persistent!

How has Project Eve helped you and/or your business?
I just found out about Project Eve this week. I am looking forward to reading the articles and connecting with other entrepreneurs.

Give us an insider tip that relates to your industry or startup story.
Do your homework first and if you have a unique idea (and the determination), don’t be afraid of the big guys (Coke, Pepsi, Nestle, Kraft). I believe the best ideas come from the consumers who see the need first hand, and not necessarily from a brand team that has to come up with a new product idea.
