Tell us about your entrepreneurial product or service.
Love My Mentor was founded in 2013 by Brittney Gamble. It is an online social platform designed to connect multi-generational women with one another to develop mentorships. Through Love My Mentor's site, members are able to search and connect across a multitude of areas of expertise, locations, and years of experience, providing each user with the opportunity to connect with a mentor/mentee that is perfect for their needs. Members have the option to nurture their mentorships through video chat or in-person interactions. In addition to the connection feature, our Blog and Event Contributors provide relevant content on a regular basis, designed to enhance an already existing bed of professional knowledge.

What inspired you to launch your business idea?
In 2012-2013, I was involved in a ton of networking events and even had the opportunity to change companies. During that time, I met a lot of new people; some were my age, but many were older. I was at a pivotal point in my career where I needed unbiased advice from someone other than my family and friends. I struggled with mustering up the strength to ask a complete stranger, or someone inherently busy with life in general, to be my mentor. Once I realized my own struggle, I spoke with several women my age who shared the same need as myself. I wanted to be able to pay it forward to these women on a national level, assisting with their everyday professional development, through the unique relationship that mentoring can provide.

What problem does your business or organization solve?
There are a few problematic areas in which Love My Mentor seeks to provide relief. One of the major problems is the lack of mentorships amongst women. Another major problem is the misconception of mentorships. Love My Mentor provides the platform to find a mentee/mentor, removing the guesswork involved in asking someone you admire or work with. Oftentimes, the time commitment poses a problem for mentorships. Love My Mentor brings together younger, professional women whom acknowledge the need for a mentor and seasoned, professional women whom have the time and passion to pay it forward.

What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur and how are you working to overcome it?
One of my biggest challenges with being an entrepreneur is trying to do everything myself. For a long time, I made myself solely responsible for a lot of things related to the development of Love My Mentor. One day I realized that I do not have super powers, I cannot do everything myself, and it is perfectly OK to solicit help. That is what brought me to Project Eve, along with the invaluable resources I'm afforded while being a part of this community.

Give us one word that people might use to describe you.

How has Project Eve helped you and/or your business?
I've had the opportunity to find and connect with women genuinely interested in the advancement of women in the workplace. Project Eve has operated as a platform to share my ideas, as well as solicit reputable talent and assistance with launching Love My Mentor. All of our new Blog Contributors were found through Project Eve!
