Tell us about your entrepreneurial product or service.
MyChildWorld (MCW) is a social shopping platform where you can discover, share and buy anything you need and like for your child worldwide.

What inspired you to launch your business idea?
The idea of MyChildWorld was born in September 2012 while me and my family were spending time by the sea and relaxing. As my mind cannot rest even on holiday, I decided to start a blog about lifestyle in Italy.
By the time, my daughter was 5 and I was a full time entrepreneur leading an industrial business in the petrochemical field.
Coming from such a business, with an MBA and a BA in English and German history and literature, I decided to add some sparkle to my “serious business grey days” and I started writing about my life as a mom and about child’s topics: food, fashion, design, parties.
While perusing the web to find inspiration, I realised something was missing. Moms needed a one-shop shopping platform where they could furthermore could meet and find likeminded moms: terribly busy, in love with their children and shopping addicted.
And I decide I could be the one to build it!

What problem does your business or organization solve?
Moms are very busy nowadays! They are short on time and shopping (online and – even worse – offline) is a time sucker sitting there on their ‘to do’ list.

MyChildWorld (MCW) is meant to supply them with:
1. A one-stop shopping platform where moms could find anything they need and like for their child from e-shops around the world from clothing, toys, skincare to gear, as well as for the time when mothers are expecting.
2. A community where moms could find advice and reviews from like-minded moms with the same shopping interests and style
3. A place to express moms’ own creativity and dreams for their children.
In fact, MyChildWorld is an easy shopping tool that enables moms to liberate their creativity by gathering their liked items and saving them in their own customised rooms where they can then purchase the items, save them for later and even share the rooms and the products with other users within MyChildWorld or within the main social networks.

What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur and how are you working to overcome it?
My biggest challenge has been to find a balance between work and family time.
An online business is 24/7 and can become overwhelming!
I experienced myself and it became overwhelming so I decided, before facing a burn-out, to set limits.
I now find time for myself and my family which means no phone or any other devices. My whole attention is focused on my family when we spend time together.
