I wrote an eBook titled ‘Rise Up and Glow' based on my life living in a lack mentality. I was fired from my job in 2010 by a Saudi Prince who declared he did not want women driver's in his entourage which was visiting my hometown. Two other women were also fired on the same day for the same reason so we filed an official complaint.
In 2008, I drove for six weeks for a Saudi Princess and I was the only woman driver out of the entire male driving crew. I didn't know women were not allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia until about two weeks into that driving detail.
The experiences changed my life for the better. My eBook is about how I overcame challenges by changing my thought process and setting goals for my life. I now have a website, an ebook, social media pages and I feature one artist, author, and musician on my site each new month. I am in the process of creating an online training program based on The Powermind System(TM) by Dr. Michael Monroe Kiefer. His books and assessments helped me very much during the past four years. I am partnering with Antonia Slate of Slate Agency to run the teleseminars and webinars as I am a stay at home mom without daycare options to do everything on my own.

What inspired you to launch your business idea?
The song ‘Beat Up' by Gareth Icke inspired me to create Rise Up and Glow. It is the chorus line in his song and it struck a chord with me. I asked him for permission to use the song and lyrics and he said YES!.

What problem does your business or organization solve?
My website features one artist, author and musician per month. I have found many creative people do not nessasrily enjoy promoting their own work and are flattered and surprised when I announce I have chosen to feature their work. I get them on the front page of Goggle Plus, tweet out their links, and add photos to Rise Up and Glow's Facebook page. I create a closer relationship with the people I network with by sharing their work at no cost.
I have recently become a certified Powermind System(TM) Life Coach and offer my services on a one on one client basis. My eBook shares my personal struggles through gender discrimination, life changes, single parenthood, and years of poverty and lack mentality. My business is helping others recognize their natural skills and talents and expanding their goals around them.

What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur and how are you working to overcome it?
My biggest challenge in the past four years has been a lack of finances. It doesn't stop me from pursuing my goals. One of my goals was to become a published author. I did it by self publishing on Smashwords. I wrote the eBook with my two kids at home, without income, and on a state grant to help me pay my rent. I also learned to to create the ebook cover art on my own using Microsoft word, and I created an eBook video trailer using Windows Movie Maker. I had to be resourceful and take the time to learn how to do these things because I honestly didn't have the money to hire someone. I actually still owe my editor a payment for her services.
