Weight Loss After 40 – Back on Track

I'm in the final week of my first month on Nutrisystem’s Uniquely Yours Lean 13 program and my conclusion is IT WORKS. In total, I’ve lost 10.5 pounds in 28-days, which is pretty amazing. I am so thrilled with my progress and weight loss on the program that I plan to stay on it and tackle the 25 remaining pounds I want to take off.

If you haven’t had the chance yet to follow me on this journey, please feel free and read the other blogs in the series – I’d love to have you join me!

WEIGHT LOSS AFTER 40 – THIS WEEK WAS HARD

I know there are a lot of programs out there, but honestly has been such a positive weight loss experience!

Lean 13 is for you if you…

are a busy person and have little free time

don't want to spend a lot of time preparing or cooking meals

are annoyed by having to count calories or measure food portions

want the convenience of having food delivered straight to your door

want to enjoy eating while losing weight

Here’s me weighing-in on Lean 13:

Weight loss: I really committed to giving the program a chance, only breaking

from the diet once to celebrate my husband's birthday dinner. In total, I lost almost 11 pounds over a 28-day period. It feels fantastic having people notice that I’ve lost weight.

Food: The food was surprisingly good! More importantly, it was quick and easy to prepare. That's key for someone like myself who loves to cook but rarely has the time or ingredients to do so. The other thing I liked about the Lean 13 program is all the food variety and balanced meal planning. You have plenty of different foods to choose from, and though I never counted them, you have at least 2-3 dozen different options to choose from each meal. As you'll see below, that came in handy. Variety and portion sizing were key in helping me lose weight.

Hunger: To be honest, none of the portions are large, but you get to eat 5x daily so you never really feel hungry. I never felt super full, but I also never felt hungry or deprived.

Energy: Because of all the fruits, vegetables and healthy carbs, I often had more energy than I did when I was consuming nearly double the calories. I did have a few days where I needed more energy on the program, particularly after teaching skiing all day, but my Nutrisystem counselor* said I could add a few more calories to compensate.*

*Counseling: Nutrisystem offers a lot of different tools to help encourage and motivate you. They have trained dieticians and counselors to speak with you if you ever have questions. They even have an included, comprehensive website where you can get feedback or support. Every dieter has access to a counselor that can track their goals and answer any questions. My counselor, Richard, was very friendly and supportive. I found the counseling to be tremendously helpful tool. Because of my kids and the stress of everyday life, I had a harder time keeping away from extra calories. I very much appreciated his positive reinforcement and expertise.

In short, Nutrisystem is weight loss that works! I plan on continuing my weight loss journey and will definitely be ordering more Nutrisystem products to keep me on track.
