Tell us about your entrepreneurial product or service.
A Certified Event Planner for just over 14 years, 8 years with an International Corporation as their Corporate Training/Event Planner which included being transferred to Connecticut for 3 years, travelling to 24 markets, organizing events from conception to conclusion this career path I would not change.
My specialties include; Budget development and creation, building time-line templates, venue research, vendor negotiations, communication, detailed orientated, on-site coordination, troubleshooting.
Creating a vision for a client requires dedication and the ability to work in different environments and always try to ensure a successful event takes place within budget.
What inspired you to launch your business idea?
After gaining a vast amount of expertise, skills and knowledge during my adventures within the corporate world, with events that were cookie style I wanted to transfer my expertise and over lay them onto different events. I decided to create a 5 year business plan and jump into the world of entrepreneurship.
What problem does your business or organization solve?
A major component to my role is trying to advise clients what a budget can sustain and the feasibility of holding an event utilizing minimal monetary outlay. There vision might require $1000’s but in reality there budget can only accommodate 25%.
I tailor my proposals and give them Option A, B and C, good, bad and ugly. Illustrating what their budget allowance will facilitate, talking them through the processes and where costs can be cut. Do they need my full services? Where can I step in to assist? What is the major hurdle they need to overcome to make the event happen?
What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur and how are you working to overcome it?
After working at such a high level with top management for 8 years and being a valid decision-maker, working with very large monetary budgets, being able to have the ability and funds to organize events it was difficult for me to adjust to a totally different environment. Where monetary spend is the 1st, 2nd and 3rd major hurdle for a client.
It has taken 5 long years to get to the place where I now reside, I have returning and retaining clients. I always strive to keep my benchmark high whether it has a low or high budget and every client is always treated as though they are the only one and ensure a totally flexible schedule to accommodate their needs, which can at times be 7-days a week.
I have proven to my clients that I can be trusted and will always give them 100%+++
