AviationAuctionHouse.com transforms the aviation maintenance industry by eliminating the need to fork out huge database listing fees for excess aviation inventory. This online “garage” sale is perfect for aviation aficionados who are A.O.G. (Aircraft on Ground), downsizing, cleaning up their inventory or just want to earn some fast cash.
What inspired you to launch your business idea?
After listening to my husband and his colleagues (they have 15+ years’ experience in the industry) complain about how the aviation maintenance industry was behind in technology and how they were struggling to pay for the huge database listing fees, I came up with a user friendly- cost effective solution that fit their needs.
What problem does your business or organization solve?
AviationAuctionHouse.com is a non-subscription auction website for legitimate aviation buyers and sellers. Excess aviation inventory will now be available to dealers, operators, repair stations, lenders, airlines and aviation aficionados worldwide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Sellers pay an upfront listing fee ($25-$35) – that’s all. Buyers pay nothing to AviationAuctionHouse.com, and there’s no charge for either buyers or sellers to browse. A key caveat: sellers are required to upload images, list an item’s condition, have complete traceability and when applicable, include an image of the data plate to ensure the item is in the seller’s possession and is not misrepresented. It’s a great way to minimize inventory and quickly raise funds.
What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur and how are you working to overcome it?
I’m tackling this project solo and desperately need advice and assistance. I’m well aware that innumerable start-ups are competing for their place at the table, but based on my professional experience, I truly believe that AviationAuctionHouse.com provides a solution to a problem and can change the behavior in the aviation industry.
It’s hard to change the behavior of an industry but I’m creating new relationships with maintenance, repair and overhaul shops and acquiring their excess inventory.

Here are some stats to get you more acquainted with the industry. There are between 15 million and 18 million airline flights in the world annually with about 40,000 to 50,000 flights daily. A sensible estimate worldwide would be between 15,000 and 20,000 planes flying per day. The Boeing 737 series is the best-selling jet airliner in the history of aviation. Assembling and maintaining a 737 is a complex job. There are 367,000 parts; an equal number of bolts, rivets and other fasteners; and 36 miles of electrical wire to build and service this one amazing aircraft.
