During the winter, there’s nothing I hate more than how dry my skin gets. From flaky skin on my arms and hands to breakouts because of the moisture-barren skin on my face, my body shuts down for about 3 months out of the year. Luckily, living in the south means I don’t have to worry about the dry skin for long, but that doesn’t make it any more bearable. In recent years, I’ve started looking for new products to add into my daily routine to keep my skin soft, subtle, and not looking reptile like. From hand creams to bath products, here is how I beat the winter itch.
Beat Winter Itch – The Body Shop Body Butter
One of my favorite winter skin saviors is the Body Shop Body Butter. My favorite is the coconut, which hearkens back to my days on the beach. The Body Shop makes amazing products for keeping skin moisturized and smooth. The body butters come in 6.75-ounce containers, but a little goes a long way!
Beat Winter Itch – Lush Butterball Bath Bomb
Not only are Lush products completely organic, but they are so natural that you could probably eat them. I wouldn’t though. When I’m ready to relax after a long week of work, I drop the Lush Butterball Bath Bomb into my tub. The vanilla scented bath bomb has a unique formulation that infuses water with moisturizing qualities that leaves skin soft and silky.
Beat Winter Itch – Laura Mercier Crème Brulee Honey Bath
When I want to really bath in luxury, I reach for my Laura Mercier Crème Brulee Honey Bath. This honey-scented piece of heaven is perfect for swirling into my bath water and creating a bubble bath that is perfect for keeping my skin soft all winter long. Although this is on the pricier side, it’s perfect for my skin and lasts for months! Plus, the vitamin-infused bath keeps my skin tightened and toned even as the cold weather takes its toll.
Beat Winter Itch – Neutrogena Body Oil
One of the best ways to really get deep down into skin is with a body oil. My favorite is an affordable drugstore brand. The Neutrogena Body Oil has a light scent that isn’t overwhelming. The sesame formula isn’t heavy on the skin, but has a major impact for dry skin. After the bath, I love to spread this over my arms and legs while my skin is still wet. I love putting this oil on right before bed and letting it soak into my skin overnight. In the morning , it’s easy to rinse off and apply my favorite lotion.
Winter Itch – Aquasentials Easy Lotion Applicator
The worst part about dry winter skin is trying to get into all those hard to reach places. Even though it’s easy to smooth lotion or oils over the skin on my arms, legs, and chest, it’s not so easy to reach my back. For me, I get the worst dry patches on my shoulders. The Aquasentials Easy Lotion Applicator makes it easier than ever to reach all those places that I normally can’t. The sponge applicator has a 15.5 inch length to give me the reach I need.
