Best Baby Registry Essentials

Let’s be real: pregnancy is a very exciting time for a mother-to-be.  And just one of the many exciting things about it is putting together your baby registry, a.k.a., a list of things you want that your friends can buy you for the baby shower.  Who doesn’t get a little giddy thinking about all the adorable baby clothes, accessories, and items that might soon be wrapped up and on their way to your house?

Well, before you go hog wild with a barcode scanner at Babies R Us, maybe take a few minutes to plan what sort of items you’ll be requesting.  These are the things that have our vote for absolute baby registry essentials.

1. Video baby monitor

Take safety and security into the 21st century with this high-tech video baby monitor that will let you keep an eye on your precious one from the any room.  The controller has a full color LCD display that you can view and it even allows you to turn, zoom, and focus the camera wirelessly.

2. Pack ‘n Play portable crib

You probably spent quite some time picking out the perfect crib to go in your newly painted nursery, but don’t neglect to put a portable crib on your baby registry.  You’ll want one sot hat your little one can stay safe and comfortable when you visit Grandma, or even just to keep near you while you’re in the kitchen.  This one folds up in just seconds, and is amazingly compact so you can fit it in the car.

3. Stylish diaper bag

Keep all your baby essentials within arm’s reach while still looking fabulous.  This diaper bag looks like a high fashion tote bag, has a shoulder strap for easy carrying, and contains nine interior pockets to hang onto everything.  Just because your diaper bag is holding all your child’s accessories doesn’t mean it has to look like a child’s accessory.

4. Back seat car organizer

If this is your first baby, you’ll be surprised just how much stuff you actually have to take with you now that you’ve got a little one.  Diapers, wipes, extra clothes, burp cloths, bottles, toys, hats….  It’s too much stuff for any diaper bag, so how about this convenient organizer that slips over the seat in the car?  You’ll find so many uses for it for years to come.  When you have a toddler on your hand, you’ll be glad you have snacks and coloring books on hand for long car rides.

5. Nursery essentials kit

These are the kind of items that you’ll use all the time, so if you have two or three of them scattered around the house, it’s not a bad thing.  Make sure you have this convenient kit on your baby registry because it includes essentials like a digital thermometer, medicine dropper, nasal aspirator, nail clipper and more.  All of it comes in a convenient carrying case which makes it easy to throw in the diaper bag.

6. Calming vibrating baby bathtub

Your baby will (someday) thank you for putting this on your baby registry because of how calming and comfortable it is.  Soothe an anxious or tired baby with relaxing vibrations, and continue to use it as your child grows because the removable sling makes this tub good for older infants too.  You’ll definitely be glad to have this tub around when you’re drying your baby off for bedtime and they’re already about to fall asleep.
