Cabana do Cacau will be a sustainable boutique hotel driven by the desire to create affordable luxury for travellers. It aims to provide a new type of hotel experience for a new type of traveller.

With travellers we mean a new breed of global travellers, the type who crosses continents the way others cross streets. They have the willingness to experience different cultures, life styles, and places. This includes explorers, eco enthusiasts, hippies, dreamers but also cost conscious cosmopolitans and urban dwellers. Those who travel the world with big hearts and wide eyes. Those who are independent, yet united by a love of the five continents.

Cabana do Cacau will offer boutique styling at a lower price point. 22 unique sustainable cabanas built from local materials, which blend seamlessly into the nature of Itacaré on Brazil’s idyllic Cocoa coast. An intimate place that reflects and learns from the needs of these new global

Cabana do Cacau aims at providing the very best in privacy, location, accommodation, service, facilities and experiences. It’s is a hotel that feels like a friend’s house with a Bahian bliss. Here you can meet like-minded people in a true, simple and authentic setting.

The result: unique, quality lodging for an affordable price.

The initial investment capital to launch the business is acquired through fundraising. Cabana do Cacau wants to involve this new generation travellers in the development of the hotel as much as possible. Accordingly, our aim is to be funded the social way: by means of crowd funding and offer people the possibility to become an ambassador and by that co-founder of Cabana do Cacau. This group of ambassadors will form a community and will be addressed to as such. This community plays
a big part in the marketing strategy of the hotel

As our ambassador you can join our social movement by buying 2 weeks of time at Cabana do Cacau. You can return every year for the next 5 years. Through crowd funding, the local business will provide a healthy stream of income. Healthy means profitable, providing good working conditions and with respect for local culture and the environment. Most of the earnings stay in the country and parts of the profits are invested in local education projects. Eventually the business and the social projects will be handed over to local management.

What inspired you to launch your business idea?
A paradise on earth, should be a paradise for everybody. That’s what inspired us to launch this idea. A tropical gem located on a palm fringed shore, which everybody can enjoy. A place that will be appreciated and beneficial not only for the global traveler, but also for the little ones living there and their folks.

Cabana do Cacau has the desire to create affordable luxury by providing a new type of hotel experience for a new type of traveller.

All with great respect for the environment and the social context that goes far beyond the majority of the so called ‘eco-resorts’.

What problem does your business or organization solve?
We will try to close the gap between low budget travelling and high end luxury. We want to offer our guests an affordable unique experience were contemporary design meets the history of the place.

At Cabana do Cacau ‘luxury’ and ‘sustainability’ elements which often exclude each other, will be brought together and fused with the spectacular surrounding nature.

Cabana do Cacau’s guest experience and business model is developed around this philosophy and to achieve this we set ourselves 5 distinctive pillars. Sustainability, design, education, local involvement, personalization.
