Facebook announced today that they’ve updated their Page Terms for businesses running promotions on their Facebook page. Previously, Facebook required pages to run their promotions through third-party applications (my favorite one being OfferPop).
Businesses now have the ability to create their own promotions entirely on their own in HTML or can collect entries using posts on the Facebook page, comments on a page post, messages from entrants, and use Likes as a voting mechanism. This opens up the ability to easily create photo contests right on your own timeline, accept photos as entries and add them to your own photo albums, and reduce the costs to run a promotion and encourage activity and engagement.
Additionally, link posts will now feature a larger photograph but the photograph will not be adjustable. While more visually pleasing, there’s definitely room for improvement there.
