Each summer I like to do a wardrobe purge. Without it, I will flail around searching for things and start to convince myself things have been lost at the dry cleaners or left in a hotel or on a plane. -Mind you none of these things has never actually happened to me in years. It is purely the result of the gigantic mess that forms over the course of the year.
When I closet clean, I don’t have crazy rules like it has to go if I haven’t worn something in the last 3 months. Until this year, I would just try and look at most things with a semi-critical eye. I would ask myself things like: ‘Will I ever be that size again?’ This year I’ve added a new question: ‘Is this comfy enough?’ I’ve realized that if I am distracted by something that is uncomfortable it is almost impossible to be confident. At a minimum I want to avoid limping around with blisters or trying to shift around in my own clothes to get comfortable. You know the items I’m referring to; The shoes that are oh so gorgeous sitting there on the shelf. They are mocking you because you feel like the there are daggers shooting through her feet when you try to wear them for more than five minutes. The lovely blouse that gaps in the most inappropriate spot if you ever try to sit down while wearing it. The pants that can only be worn with gigantic sweaters and jackets and might need to be unbuttoned if you even consider lunch.
Even the backup undies need to go. What are ‘backup undies’ you ask? They are the ones that seem perfectly good when you put them on but then shift into the most insanely uncomfortable position the second you walk out the door. Why would you keep such an item you ask? Hmmm. Well, they are basically unworn. That’s about the only reason I can think of. So in the event I’m late with laundry, I’ve ordered extras of the underwear that is actually comfortable so this look below isn’t what present to the world. Backup undies are gone! Ridiculous shoes, gapping shirt, and crazy tight pants have been donated.
I’m also determined to have this kind of confidence ALL month long. I refuse to let uncomfortable liners put that face on me either. Since now all I’ll be wearing is comfortable undies, I will only pair them with liners that can also make me comfortable. U by Kotex Curves® Liners are my go to choice because they fit me and my undies. They also leave me worry free and confident so I can tackle all the other embarrassing situations life has to offer.
