Some days are better than others; we get up on the right side of the bed, the sun is shining and all is right with the world and then there are other days…days when putting one foot in front of the other seems just about all we can manage without crawling back under the covers.
How do we make more of our days “sunny side up?”
In a recent article entitled 7 Ways to Stay Naturally Energized, the author, Arlene Chandler, offers some great tips like staying hydrated, taking time for ourselves and one that I really like: giving yourself plenty of time to start the day:
Avoid mentally exhausting yourself as soon as your alarm goes off by getting up a few minutes earlier than usual. Giving yourself a few minutes to sip on a homemade smoothie, prepare a healthy breakfast, or watch an episode of your favorite comedy series will help relax your mind and allow you to enjoy the morning without rushing around and panicking about being on time. A little peace in the morning goes a long way in helping you feel focused throughout the day.
This tip has been a life saver for me. I enjoy getting up 30 minutes before the rest of the family so that I do have that time to wake up and mentally prepare myself for the day.
I also just interviewed a Purposeful Woman on a Mission, Doris Mayer, who offers some great tips for increasing your energy. Take a listen to her great advice.’
