Tell us about your product or service.
Toni Slate and Gretchen Cooper created Lounge Talk Radio as a vehicle for connecting people, ideas and product and services we love with others. We actively promote artists, authors, musicians through interviews and sharing via social networking sites.
What inspired you to launch your business?
We both had active blogs upon meeting we decided to collaborate our ideas and interests to create one portal of information. We quickly found out two heads were much more effective and productive than one.
In 2010, Gretchen was terminated from her job as a driver for the Saudi Royal family because she is female. This was a difficult time for Gretchen and she decided it was time to step into the unknown world of being self employed.
Gretchen and Toni shared many of the same interests in music, art and ideas so our collaboration fell very easily into place.
What problem does your business or organization solve?
We assist people in making their goals a reality. We do this by networking with people and connecting others. Our daily networking saves people time, energy, and money because we use a pay it forward business model. For example we are currently promoting an across the country tour based on the book American Gods by Neil Gaiman. We assist the core team in finding company and individual sponsors to make the trip a reality. We also promote and advertise events on our website.
Lounge Talk Radio has a kid’s page in which Gretchen’s daughter, Neema is the host. She is four years old and is really excited about getting Lounge Talk Radio Kids on the air!
e have just added a head chef, Ms. Hilmi Ahmad to start a new phase of LTR called Lounge Talk Radio Kitchen in which people can submit recipes and cooking video demonstrations. We are really looking forward to adding this to our website in the coming weeks.
What has been your biggest challenge and how are you working to overcome it?
The past year has been challenging and extremely rewarding at the same time. A friend of ours said to us ” Do you know why Lounge Talk Radio will become successful? Because you are both doing this from scratch. You are doing it with nothing but an idea.”
He was right. We could say lack of finances is a challenge, but in reality money could not buy the relationships we have formed with our networking partners. They are truly priceless.
Toni and Gretchen are students of the Powermind System developed by Dr. Michael Monroe Kiefer. We actively use our daily thoughts and ideas to create our reality and Lounge Talk Radio. We have found the principals in Dr. Kiefer’s books and lectures to be a guiding force in which we base all of our goals and decisions on the Powermind System insights.
We are launching a crowdfunding campaign to help us upgrade our studio equipment and are using our networking partners shout out videos for our main crowdfunding campaign video!
