As Founding Principal of SAGE Advisory Group in Morristown, NJ, Sheri is proud to bring a woman’s touch to the male-dominated world of financial life planning (where more than 76% of her fellow Certified Financial Planner professionals are men, according to a 2013 CFP Board report). With experience as a corporate executive, small-business owner and stay-at-home mom, she is like a Swiss Army Knife: Her background equips her to help busy professionals and their families cut through an array of financial complexities standing in the way of their most fulfilling lives.
Prior to SAGE, Sheri served for 15 years as a corporate executive at General Electric (GE). She initiated her tenure in GE’s prestigious Financial Management Program, expanding into a variety of financial and customer service management positions in GE’s Power Generation Services group. She also counseled her male and female colleagues alike on their employee benefits and retirement plans.
Sheri decided to break from the fast-paced corporate life in 1996 to concentrate more fully on her family and to prepare for her new career as an independent financial life planner. Sheri founded SAGE in 2001, the same year she became a Certified Financial Planner™ professional. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in finance, Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Tech. She is a member of the global women’s network 85 Broads; the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA); and Money Quotient’s program for lifelong financial life planning education.
In her free time, Sheri is a voracious reader of all genres and media. She also enjoys going to Rock ‘n Roll concerts with her husband and her musically inclined sons – a guitarist and a drummer. (She is sorry to report that they did not inherit their tuneful talents from their mother.) Her favorite inspirational quote: “Life astounds us in an instant, changing all we know.” ~ Mary Chapin Carpenter
