Tell us about your entrepreneurial product or service.
I am an administration consultant that provides admin solutions for businesses. I operate in New Zealand and operate both virtually and onsite for my clients. I serve clients based in Auckland, throughout New Zealand and Worldwide.

There are two functions of an administration consultant.

The first is providing expert administration support to businesses.

The second is as a consultant, looking for ways to make improvements to administrative procedures in place already (or perhaps not in place), with the ultimate goal of saving the client time and money.

The relationship established is that of business to business. I am in business so I care about the clients business. The business is not hiring an employee, assistant or secretary – they are hiring a professional.

I offer flexible support for businesses. The business may not have an office as such (i.e. tradespeople) and they need a one off project done such as flyers, basic websites, newsletters, or social media set up and maintenance.

Alternatively, I have an onsite service were I go out to the business and offer administrative support whether they need help for a few hours, week, or month. Services include more of a PA type function, diary management, typing, legal administration, event and travel co-ordination.

What inspired you to launch your business idea?
Assistme was born from a combination of 10 years work experience in law firms, theoretical knowledge and desire to become a business owner.

What problem does your business or organization solve?
Market research showed that small and medium businesses in particular, needed flexible, on-demand, administration support. I noticed in my own situation when I was working full time in a law firm and wanted to go to Europe, my employer either had to get a temp in or seek voluntary resignation, which was a hassle.

Every business experiences market fluctuations throughout the year and it can be a huge expense taking on extra staff or a permanent part time employee, when they only need someone for a day, week or month.

The skills and knowledge that I have, delivers an ultimate administration support package.

What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur and how are you working to overcome it?
During the startup phase. The term administration consultant is not well known in New Zealand. I am working on this by getting the word out there what an administration consultant does.
