Tell us about your entrepreneurial product or service.
My entrepreneurial product allows me to help people live out their goals in dreams. Back in 2009, a clothing company was created called, “Foolies.” Foolies were people who were so driven and so crazy to reach their goals and dreams that they were called “fools” for trying to do so. We wanted to uplift and shake up the world through fashion.
What inspired you to launch your business idea?
At first it was a joke. Hahha, we are Foolies. But then it spiraled into something amazing. We would soon see people taking our mottos for the apparel and starting their own thing. Pushing their own small business. Going back to school to live out their goals and dreams. And then we knew we had something deep on our hands. Something phenomenal. Something that would change the life of not just those with the apparel, but those who come in contact with another who may be in the apparel.
What problem does your business or organization solve?
The problem we solve is a unique one. There are thousands and maybe even millions of people with goals and dreams on their hearts and they are not living them out. A few of our popular quotes are “Dream Without Limits, Dream without Fear, and Faith Over Fear.” These words have truly pushed people pass their normal limitations. We not only give customers the motivation we allow the community to inspire one another. So we are always telling of amazing accomplishments of our customers and what they are doing to impact the world. We bring HOPE back into the equation. Each customer gets a personal letter from the CEO and a dream journal. With their dream journal we want our customers to write down their dreams and goals and be deliberate about living them out.
What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur and how are you working to overcome it?
Fear. We let fear rule us. We let fear stop us in our tracks. We let fear come in and make us shy, or make us scared to talk about our product. Here we were thinking, “just another clothing company,” even though we knew we had something bigger. We beat ourselves up in the very beginning. But all it took was one person to believe in what we were doing. The rest was history. Now we are approaching 6 years of running the business. We are more than blessed and fortunate.
Give us one word that people might use to describe you.
How has Project Eve helped you and/or your business?
You know what? It hasn’t helped me just yet. And in the same token it has. I am only a casual reader and some of the blog posts really do hit me where it counts. So I am thankful for the passive motivation if you will.
Give us an insider tip that relates to your industry or startup story.
Network your behind off. Go to trade shows. Volunteer at fashion boutiques. Pick the brains of any and everyone. We all wear apparel. We all need clothes. Find out if what you have is something solid. Validation is key to ANY business. Never stop validating. Don’t just drop your business or company without telling anyone what you are doing. It would be pointless. Because when you drop your site or blog you are going to get your feelings hurt because no one is visiting or checking it out. Build a strong email list! That email list will be everything for your business. And stop researching so much. We research ourselves to death and never get out and DO. You have to royally screw things up before learning what is needed.
