I blog about and for artists and crafters, about selling handmade online, about blogging and sometimes about me.
I also make illustrated greeting cards online which I sell in my shops on Etsy and Made It. Mostly I sketch but I also knit, sew, garden and read. If it’s crafty and creative then I’ll enjoy it (especially if I can drink tea while doing it)
I’ve been dabbling in website design for over ten years. My first online venture was selling fine art by Australian artists. And I’ve blogged about everything from buying and selling art to the importance of wearing safety gear when motorbike riding. I have a Bachelor of Education and worked as a school teacher for many years.
I believe in challenging myself in order to be a better person for myself and the people around me. I believe life should be more about giving then taking.
I’m loving my work for Jane’s Apple, combining my love of art and craft with writing and web design and marketing.
What inspired you to launch your business?
My business is a combination of what I enjoy most, art and writing. It is truly wonderful to do what I love every day.
What problem does your business or organization solve?
I write about selling handmade online. I’m a resource for people all over the world who would like to make money from selling their handmade items online whether they be a crafter making vintage style aprons or an amazingly talented sketch artist.
I dedicate time on my blog to spotlighting and interviewing artists and crafters who are currently selling online. These interviews serve to promote those artists or crafters and are also and invaluable source of advice about how to sell successfully online.
What has been your biggest challenge and how are you working to overcome it?
Self doubt is possibly my biggest downfall. I have to remain positive and keep working towards my own success. I know success is rarely immediate and I need to be patent and maintain my commitment to my creative business – Jane’s Apple
