Tell us about your entrepreneurial product or service.
Jiva Essentials was started because I was suffering from damaged, dry hair and had not been able to find a solution to my hair problems. Jiva Essentials is a natural hair care company providing moisturisers and styling products for your hair. We strive to use ingredients that nature has to offer that protects your hair and gives you that soft, nourished feeling we all want.
What inspired you to launch your business idea?
I had worked in the corporate environment for a few years and just felt that something was missing. I wanted to be my own boss and build something from the ground up.
What problem does your business or organization solve?
We combat damaged hair using natural products. We also aim to provide consumers with as much information as possible on our products and ingredients so that they are better educated on what ingredients they are using on their hair.
What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur and how are you working to overcome it?
Being a first time entrepreneur, it is sometimes difficult to determine what are the next steps to building a business e.g. such as how to go about manufacturing, when and how to sell your products etc. I’ve been reading and researching how to proceed and will be beginning the process of finding a mentor.
