What inspired you to launch your business idea?
In early 2007, I started reading the fine print on food labels and all of the ingredients that were listed on the products I was buying and then consuming. Most everything contained one or more of the following; additives, preservatives, flavor enhancers or MSG. The majority of these products contained what I would define as chemicals, something I would not cook with at home, and usually were items I couldn’t even pronounce. I eliminated 70% of processed foods from our diet. I am determined to be a part of the solution when it comes to our food.
What problem does your business or organization solve?
My hope is to share quality information about Food Industry Awareness and the importance of educating yourself when it comes to reading food labels, so that you can make better food choices when it comes to your food. Our brand offers healthier alternatives (products) related to the Specialty Food Business. I specialize in recipe development by creating easier, healthier, and more affordable dishes without sacrificing flavor!
What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur and how are you working to overcome it?
Taking the Company to the next level has definitely been a challenge. Improving our process so that we are efficient and capable of handling a larger volume. Developing patience in building the brand at a manageable pace vs. getting too big too fast and not being able to handle the growth. We are currently looking for a larger facility and purchasing mixers and filling machines this year.

How has Project Eve helped you and/or your business?
Being able to connect with other women entrepreneurs to collaborate and share information and exchange advice about ourselves and our businesses.
It’s a privilege to own a business and I have so many mentors that I get advice and information from, including this site. I hope I can learn from other women here as well.
Give us an insider tip that relates to your industry or startup story.
Educating oneself about reading food labels. The more ingredients that are unpronounceable means more processed and most commercial brands and products add these unnecessary ingredients to extend the shelf life.
