Tree In A Box produces the finest tree seed kits. Our kits provide everything you need to grow a tree from seed. Each kit is easy to use, designed to be “add water only” and grown in a sunny window.

Materials in our tree growing kits are biodegradable, organic, recycled or recyclable. The book and box are printed on recycled paper, we use an organic biodegradable peat pot and we package everything in the smallest possible format to reduce waste. We assemble the kits by hand in our Vancouver, Washington location.

We offer our standard tree growing kits in nine tree species that were selected for their ability to grow in various climates across the country. We also have a specially designed Baby Tree growing kit that makes beautiful baby shower favors or gift basket inclusion for new moms. As an expansion to our Baby Tree we have a Baby Tree Gift Kit that makes a great gift for mom-to-be. For those that want to start off with a little larger tree we offer tree seedlings that are beautifully packaged for gift giving and are ready to plant on arrival.

Tree growing kits can be personalized for weddings, parties, and corporate or community events by adding on of our custom seal options.

Our Grow your own tree seed kits make the perfect Eco-friendly gift for corporate promotional items, green wedding favors, birthday party favors, baby shower favors and gifts, bar/bat mitzvah party favors, and memorial dedications.

What inspired you to launch Tree In A Box?

Tree In A Box was started by a close friend and her husband. When he became ill and and they could no longer run the company, they turned to us to continue on with our shared goal of helping our environment and improving the world we all live in. We believe in the ancient tradition of planting a tree to commemorate special occasions. Planting even one tree can have a profound impact, being able to see your tree grow from a tiny seed all the way up to a full sized tree gives great joy and a feeling of accomplishment. We share our love of the environment with our daughter, who has dubbed herself the princess of trees, because as the saying goes “We Do Not Inherit the Earth from Our Ancestors; We Borrow It from Our Children”.

What problem does Tree In A Box solve?

Tree In A Box provides consumers with an easy and affordable way to give back to our planet. We also provide a way for couples, individuals, and corporations to give gifts that will have a lasting impact on not only the recipient but also our Earth.

What has been your biggest challenge starting Tree In A Box and how are you working to overcome it?

My biggest challenge has been finding a way to get the company name and product out where consumers will see it. As a small economically disadvantaged woman owned business, we have a very small marketing budget giving us limited avenues to promote and share our products with those we feel could benefit from them.

Give us one word that people might use to describe you.

What milestone do you hope Tree In A Box will have surpassed one year from now?

The milestone that Tree In A Box strives to achieve in one year would be to have a need for and hire our first real employee. Right now, we run the company from our home and put in long hours to process orders, post to social media, and take care of all other business operations. We would love to grow to where we can help others in our community by hiring one or more employees.
