What does Up Hill Marketing do? Tell us about your entrepreneurial product or service.

Up Hill Marketing provide a range of digital marketing & web design services throughout the United Kingdom. We predominately work with search engine optimisation, but also offer pay per click, social media, and web design services/consultancy.

The idea behind Up Hill Marketing was to use our expertise to help small businesses compete against their industry giants through online channels. Many small businesses buy into the belief that once they have built a website, they’ll instantly see enquiries and fast conversions. Unfortunately, the reality of the situation is that many sites fall into the abyss, rarely seeing any traffic.

What inspired you to launch Up Hill Marketing?

I first discovered digital marketing when I was 16 years old; I had just left high school and was searching for ways to make money for the weekend. (I was quite naive).

I spent many years studying and landed my first job as an SEO consultant at age 19. It was here that I grew a genuine passion for marketing. I loved watching my clients grow, increasing their traffic, their sales and building brands online.

The agency I was working for at that time had saved a small business from bankruptcy through digital marketing. The gratitude of the client to the company and our team was a unique feeling and experience.

What problem does Up Hill Marketing solve?

Up Hill Marketing allows start-ups and small businesses to compete with industry giants through online channels. A lot of businesses find it difficult to advertise their products or services – especially online.

Our services take the marketing stress away from our clients so that they can focus on more important things.

What has been your biggest challenge starting Up Hill Marketing and how are you working to overcome it?

The biggest challenge for me was deciding to make the leap of faith; I had a comfortable job, I considered a lot of my colleagues friends, and I had a lot of job security.

One day or another I was going to make the leap of faith, I have always wanted to grow a business of my own, and I wasn’t prepared to let comfort get the better of me.

What milestone do you hope Up Hill Marketing will have surpassed one year from now?

One year from now I would like to be attracting over 1000+ visitors a month to our website, as well as having a dedicated department for each service that we offer.

How has Project Eve helped you and orUp Hill Marketing?

I have only just discovered ProjectEve, but I love how I can share the story of my first start-up business with other entrepreneurs. I look forward to having discussions with other business owners and seeing their views, ideas, and tips
