Urbanance Media: Effective PR Shouldn’t Be Reserved for 5 Figure Budgets

Tell us about your entrepreneurial product or service.
Urbanance Media is the sister brand to Modern Graffiti Marketing Group. Urbanance specializes in PR, publicity and outreach for lifestyle brands and small businesses. Working with key contacts and relationships across print, broadcasting, search, display and social influence, Urbanance generates engaging, interactive placements with multifaceted positioning to tell a business or brand’s unique story. PR is a valuable resource for practically every industry and business type but we don’t believe it should only be reserved for clients who have the benefit of 5 figure budgets.

What inspired you to launch your business idea?
Marketing and PR go hand-in-hand and Modern Graffiti offered PR support for specific client needs. As branding evolved, we began to see that Modern Graffiti clients had a need for PR services that were more comprehensive and embedded into their marketing. Following the needs of the market, it was an ideal time to expand and deploy some concentrated PR efforts. Urbanance combines the success of Modern Graffiti and the evolution of marketing and PR in a socially-driven, digital business world.

What problem does your business or organization solve?
The provision of PR expertise solves two challenges:

1. Similar to marketing, businesses and brands large and small don’t always know how to reach their audience. PR is a major component of building that line of communication and we saw an opportunity to help those brands.
2. Starting a business always requires some financial capital, and is often one of the greatest risks. Finding money for marketing is a challenge but is most often overcome. Finding additional money for PR elevates that challenge. Urbanance meets the unique PR needs of businesses in an efficient and cost effective manner by building from existing marketing/promotions or being able to combine the two to save client’s time and money.

What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur and how are you working to overcome it?
One of the greatest challenges as an entrepreneur can be staying on the cusp and achieving your own differentiation. When you invest so much time into clients’ needs, your own marketing and promotion can suffer. Launching Urbanance allows us to overcome this challenging by offering a service that is of added value to our clients by leveraging the relationships and connections we strive to make every day.
