Tell us about your entrepreneurial product or service.
I manage a social media consulting firm. Who I am: Solopreneur, Web Strategist, Social Media Manager, Blogger, Micro blogger, Photographer, Trainer/Teacher, Mother, Techie Chick, Volunteer, Contract Paralegal, Recovering Dancer, Public Administrator and MPA… all of these in no particular order.
What inspired you to launch your business idea?
As a trademark paralegal, I regularly found myself working on projects that had to do with what we considered “New Media”. About 5 years ago, I started to gravitate towards projects with a technology bent. I caught the technology bug as well as the social media bug and began to manage people’s social media accounts.
What problem does your business or organization solve?
In addition to managing Social Media accounts, I realized that people needed the consulting and training pieces. My Mission has evolved out that problem I uncovered. To help the small business, non-profit and faith-based organization develop, maintain their online presence and advance their business goals.
What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur and how are you working to overcome it?
My biggest challenge as an entrepreneur has been in maintaining a work-life balance. This year, I resolved that it is ok to say “No”, rather than become overwhelmed with projects. So far this is working, and I am learning when it is time to stop and rest.
