Yay, I completed my first week of Nutrisystem’s UNIQUELY YOURS LEAN 13 program and I am thrilled to share I lost almost 5 lbs!!
As some of you may have read about in my blog last week, I have been a yo-yo dieter all my life. In my 20’s and 30’s I could drop weight faster than a teenage wrestler, but then I hit my 40’s and everything came to a grinding halt. Between raising two kids, working full-time and blogging I don’t have a lot of free time to plan healthy meals for my family and myself. Some weeks I do ok and other weeks I eat everything in my path. I mean EVERYTHING.
After binge eating myself back into my “big jeans”, I finally decided that enough was enough. I ordered Nutrisystem’s UNIQUELY YOURS LEAN 13 and started the Turbo Takeoff program last week.
One of the key components of the Lean 13 program is the boost you get from the Turbo Takeoff when you begin the program. There are 7 days of breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as Nutricrush (hunger crushing) shakes and bars. At first I was nervous that I wouldn’t be eating enough; I didn’t want to walk around being “hangry” (hungry + angry) all week. But, I actually felt quite full. The portions were definitely smaller than what I was used to, but the Nurticrush bars and shakes really helped me stay on track with ease. They also tamed my “sweet tooth” cravings – an amazing feat in and of itself!

The best way to get an idea of how Nutrisystem Turbo Takeoff works is to look at a sample day:
- 7:00am Breakfast: Nutrisystem French Toast and a cup of coffee (my favorite meal of the day! YUM!
- 10:00am Snack: Nutrisystem Chocolate Shake
- 12:30pm Lunch: Nutrisystem White Bean Chicken Chili.
- 3:30pm Snack: Low-fat yogurt with fresh blueberries
- 6:30pm Dinner: Nutrisystem Lasagna
- 9:00pm Snack: Nutrisystem White Chocolate Chunk Cookies
***During Turbo Takeoff (i.e. your first week on the program) you are NOT supposed to add the powerfuels and smartcarbs, and it’s important to have your 4 servings of vegetables and 64oz of water per day!
After completing my first week, I’m 5 lbs lighter and I feel wonderful! I have more energy, I am sleeping better at night, and my clothes are even starting to feel a little looser (imagine that). Most importantly, I feel like I am finally taking control of an out of control situation. Things are definitely heading in the right direction!
Next week I graduate to Nutrisystem’s meal plan, which I will stay on for the next three weeks. Hopefully the pounds continue to drop. I can’t wait to see more results!
